1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LetterShot ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. LetterShot reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

LetterShot is an AI-powered cover letter generation service. You provide your resume text and a job description, and the Service generates a tailored cover letter delivered as a downloadable PDF. The Service operates on a per-use pricing model at $3.99 per generated cover letter.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The cover letters produced by LetterShot are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for high-quality output, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, awkward phrasing, factual errors, or information that does not perfectly represent your qualifications.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any cover letter before submitting it to a potential employer. LetterShot is a tool to assist you, not a substitute for your own judgment.

ATS Score Disclaimer

The ATS (Applicant Tracking System) scores displayed by the Service are generated using a keyword-matching algorithm (TF-IDF analysis) and are estimates only. These scores do not represent the actual scoring methodology of any specific ATS software used by employers. A high ATS score does not guarantee that your application will pass any particular ATS system, be reviewed by a human recruiter, or result in an interview or job offer.

No Employment Guarantee

LetterShot does not guarantee any specific outcome from using the Service, including but not limited to: ATS pass rates, interview invitations, job offers, salary outcomes, or callback rates. Statistics and claims displayed on our website (such as callback rate improvements) are based on third-party research and general industry data, and do not constitute a promise of results specific to your use of the Service.

4. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that cover letters generated by the Service will result in interviews, job offers, or any particular outcome. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.

5. Pricing and Payment

LetterShot charges $3.99 per cover letter generated. There are no subscriptions, hidden fees, or recurring charges. Payment is processed through Lemon Squeezy. By making a purchase, you agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Any price changes will apply only to future transactions and will not affect previously completed purchases.

Bundle Credits

Multi-letter bundles (5-pack, 10-pack) provide credits that can be redeemed for individual cover letters. Bundle credits are associated with the email address used at the time of purchase and can be accessed from any device by entering that email. Credits do not expire.

Email Collection and Use

When you make a purchase, the email address you provide to the payment processor is stored to: (a) send a payment receipt, (b) manage bundle credits across sessions and devices, and (c) send a single feedback follow-up email 3 days after purchase. Your email is never used for marketing or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain full ownership of the resume text, job descriptions, and any other content you provide to the Service. You also own the cover letters generated for you. You may use, modify, and distribute your generated cover letters for any lawful purpose without restriction.

Our content: The LetterShot name, logo, website design, and underlying technology are the property of LetterShot. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding or technology without prior written permission.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate cover letters for fraudulent purposes, including misrepresenting qualifications, experience, or identity.
  • Send unsolicited bulk applications or spam using generated cover letters.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI prompts, algorithms, or source code of the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or interact with the Service.
  • Resell or commercially redistribute cover letters generated by the Service as a competing service.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LETTERSHOT AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of employment opportunities, interviews, or job offers
  • Rejection of job applications due to content generated by the Service
  • Inaccuracies, errors, or misrepresentations in AI-generated content that you failed to review before submission
  • Loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Reliance on ATS scores, match analysis, or any other metrics displayed by the Service
  • Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss

Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you actually paid to LetterShot in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

10. Data Collection and Analytics

By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that we collect anonymized usage data to improve the Service. This includes funnel events (which steps you complete), feature interactions (e.g., version switching, ATS score checks, text copying), and aggregated performance metrics.

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used solely for product improvement and is never sold or shared with third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Feedback and Testimonials

If you submit feedback or a testimonial through our feedback system, you grant LetterShot a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and reproduce your testimonial text on our website and marketing materials. Your name and email will never be published without your explicit written consent. You may request removal of your testimonial at any time by contacting support@getlettershot.com.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate access, or cancel transactions at our sole discretion if we believe you have violated these Terms or are using the Service in a manner that could harm LetterShot, its users, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LetterShot and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your submission of AI-generated content to third parties without adequate review; (c) any violation of these Terms; or (d) any misrepresentation of your qualifications in content you submit through or generate using the Service.
